Panini’s New Deal Adds Teams, Memorable Moments, and More Cards

In a move set to thrill collectors and enthusiasts alike, Panini America and USA Baseball have embarked on an exciting new chapter in their longstanding partnership. This latest extension marks the third renewal of their exclusive licensing deal, which initially took off in 2012. With this agreement firmly in place, Panini has broadened its horizons, allowing them to produce trading cards for all USA Baseball teams, while simultaneously introducing a collection of new memorabilia and an array of fresh athletes to their collector base.

Under the glittering umbrella of this partnership, Panini retains its exclusive rights to feature athletes from the Collegiate National Team alongside the 18U and 15U squads—a roster already teeming with potential stars of tomorrow. In a delightful twist, the 12U National Team now joins the mix for the first time. This inclusion brings with it emerging luminaries such as Pete Crow-Armstrong, Paul Skenes, and Anthony Volpe, each poised to etch their names in the annals of baseball history.

A particularly noteworthy aspect of this expanded agreement is the unveiling of the Women’s National Team in Panini’s lineup. For the first time, trading cards will spotlights female players, marking a long-overdue shift towards greater inclusivity and ensuring that the diversity of USA Baseball’s athlete base is proudly showcased. This move not only enriches the scope of available collectibles but also sends a resonant message of empowerment and broad representation.

In the not-so-distant world of real-time updates, Panini Instant stamps its dynamic presence. This real-time card release platform breaks new ground by featuring national team performances with limited-run cards that are directly accessible to fans as major feats unfold. These print-on-demand marvels capture standout plays, performances, and milestones in the moment, but with a tantalizingly brief availability window, encouraging enthusiasts to grab history as it’s being made.

Additionally, the deal magnifies Panini’s role in the highly anticipated annual Golden Spikes Award. After making waves at last year’s College World Series, Panini will again distribute exclusive trading card packs in Omaha, leading up to the 2025 award presentation on June 21. Such savvy collaborations cement Panini’s presence at the heart of pivotal baseball moments.

For those lucky fans soaking in the summer sun at national team games, Panini’s influence will be on literal display. A creatively branded addition to the field, Panini-branded on-deck circles will grace the National Training Complex. But these are not mere decorative items; they carry a story of their own. Slated to be transformed into collectible memorabilia inserts in upcoming trading card sets, these field-used items will join the ranks of player-worn jerseys already sporting the iconic Panini logo, thus bridging the gap between the game’s atmosphere and tangible memorabilia.

Since the inception of their collaboration, USA Baseball and Panini have together shone a spotlight on an impressive lineup of top-tier prospects. Numbers speak; a tally of 212 USA Baseball alumni have been chosen in the MLB Draft’s first round during this partnership. Of these, ten have had the privilege of being the No. 1 overall pick. USA Baseball’s illustrious history rumbles with a proud record of 586 first-round picks and a stellar 36 players handpicked as first overall, each having proudly donned the colors of red, white, and blue.

As Panini and USA Baseball continue this electrifying collaboration, collectors can anticipate a treasure trove of products that seamlessly blend state-of-the-art design with pieces of baseball’s promising future. Whether it’s through trading cards that memorialize explosive performances or memorabilia that conveys the heartbeat of a game, this ongoing partnership promises to keep the allure of baseball alive and flourishing in the hearts and hands of enthusiasts all over.
